Julie McKenna, Senior Research Analyst
Ms. McKenna has over three and a half years of experience working for the Maryland Public Service Commission. During her time in the electricity division, she developed expertise in the areas of rate design, regulated costs of service analyses, financial and cost of capital issues, energy market structures, energy efficiency and demand reduction measures. She has also been the project manager for several Maryland energy programs involving energy efficiency and energy assistance measures.
During Ms. McKenna’s time with ACG she as conducted analyses on topics relating to accelerated natural gas infrastructure programs, cost of service studies and rate design issues as well as evaluated natural gas procurement activities. Ms. McKenna has conducted analyses on merger policy issues as well as the impact of acquisitions and mergers on the competitive market and reliability. Ms. McKenna has also evaluated cost recovery tracker mechanisms in both the electric and gas utility industries.
Ms. McKenna has provided expert witness testimony in several regulatory proceedings, along with presentations and written analyses on various topics covering the electric and natural gas industries. Ms. McKenna holds a B.A. in Economics at Bloomsburg University in Pennsylvania and was also a member of the International Honor Society in Economics, Omicron Delta Epsilon.
